Town Garden Landscaping in Nailsworth, Cotswolds
In the heart of Nailsworth, we were asked to transform a town garden that had become overgrown and difficult to use. With careful clearance, skilled stonework, and thoughtful planting, our team created a fresh and inviting outdoor space that perfectly suits its setting in the Cotswolds.
Garden Clearance & Preparation
The project began with a full clearance of the site. We removed weeds, invasive pioneer species, and overgrown shrubs to reveal the true shape and potential of the garden. Once cleared, we levelled the bottom area to prepare for new hard landscaping and planting.
Patio Installation with Reclaimed Stone
We marked out and excavated the patio area before laying a strong sub-base. The patio itself was constructed from beautiful reclaimed Indian sandstone, chosen for its warm tones and natural character. To add a focal feature, we built radiating steps that flow into the garden, topped with an amazing piece of reclaimed York stone — bringing heritage and authenticity into the design.
Soil Improvement & Planting
With the hard landscaping complete, we turned our attention to the planting areas. We enriched the soil with a blend of improver and high-quality topsoil to give the beds the best foundation for growth. Carefully selected planting was then introduced to soften the edges of the stonework and bring year-round interest to the garden.
A Blended Town Garden Design
The finished garden combines the durability and elegance of reclaimed stone with healthy planting beds, creating a space that feels both structured and natural. Practical, low-maintenance, and full of Cotswold character, this project is a perfect example of our approach to garden landscaping in Nailsworth and the surrounding Stroud valleys.
