Garden Landscaping in Horsley, Stroud
In Barton End, near Nailsworth, our team was given a blank canvas to transform into a structured and welcoming garden. With careful groundwork, stonework, and soil preparation, we shaped the space into a design ready for lawn installation and long-term enjoyment.
Stone Edging & Retaining Wall
The project began by installing stone edges and a retaining wall, giving the garden strength, definition, and character. This framework set out the structure of the space while preventing soil movement on the sloping ground.
Topsoil & Ground Preparation
Over 10 tonnes of high-quality topsoil were brought in and carefully spread to build up the levels. With each stage, the soil was shaped and compacted to create smooth, balanced contours across the garden.
Curved Pathway Design
To connect the spaces, we carved out a curvaceous garden path, which was stoned up and compacted for durability. The flowing design adds visual interest and guides movement naturally through the garden.
Ready for a New Lawn
With the edges secured and the path set, we completed the final soil levelling to prepare the ground for lawn installation. This careful preparation ensures the turf will establish quickly and grow healthily, creating a lasting, vibrant green finish.
A Strong Foundation for a New Garden
This project demonstrates how garden landscaping in Barton End and Nailsworth starts with solid groundwork — stonework, soil, and shaping. The result is a structured garden base, ready for planting, lawn, and future features that will bring the outdoor space fully to life.
